Tuxedo - Whiskers - Medium - Adult - Male - Cat
My name is Whiskers. Life was good for a while, then my family gave me away because they didn't want me anymore. Im not sure why the new person took me. He kept me outside all the time even though I'd sit on the porch crying to come in. There were dogs and cars and other dangers and I was scared. Then, one day it happened. Someone shot me. I thought at least I'd get sympathy but he said that I probably asked for it. I'm a little cat. How could I ask to be shot? That was in April xxxx. The bullet is still in me and he brought me to the shelter because he didnt want me. That's the nicest thing hes ever done. The kind people at Animal Aid took me to a specialist but the bullet is so close to my spine that it can't be removed. I get daily massage and that helps me feel better. I drag my back leg but I can still get around and jump up maybe 2 feet high. They have the room set up so that I can go from a chair to the window in three jumps. Wait until you see this video of me climbing to the highest spot in the room! Despite the cruel and uncaring people I have met, I love people and don't hold a grudge. I'm still the outgoing and sweet guy I've always been. Just look at my photos and video to see how I flirt, roll over, snuggle, and make muffins. I'm as playful as I can be considering I can't walk as well as I used to. Here I am playing and enjoying some petting. My best features are my long white whiskers, my big green eyes, and the cute patterns on my face. I was born in xxxx. The perfect family for me would be one that would give me a lot of petting and attention and let me be the king. I will return all your love. I promise. And I will be grateful for a kind and caring home. Update!! If you want to see me on tv, click here. My blog! I was brought to Animal Aid in August xxxx, and I'm still here waiting for a home. I thought maybe if I start blogging, everyone will get to know me better and I'll find the perfect home. So, here I go: 10/9/11 -- Right now I'm living in the kitchen all by myself. Don't feel bad for me, because I prefer it that way. Here I am a couple weeks ago when I was sharing the kitchen with Isis. I liked her when she first moved in with me, but then I realized she was getting some of the attention I'd be getting so I started to pick on her. They moved her to the front office with Snickerdoodle and now we're both happier. Don't think of me as being a bully or jealous. I just love people so much I want all of their attention. Maybe I'm bad at sharing. When I think of my perfect home, I picture myself hanging out on the couch with a guy or girl watching tv, or maybe napping next to them while they're on the computer. I'd love to have my own person with no other four-legged critters around. Don't hate me for being honest. 10/22 -- I'm happy not to have to share my room with any other cats so it was a good week. I got really crazy and chased a ball all around the kitchen. My back was arched, I had a wild look in my eyes, and I dashed all around the room. There's still a little kitten left in me. I had some fun jumping in the sink too and checked out the dish drainer. Then I turned sweet and affectionate when I got some petting from the volunteers. Listen to me purr and watch me turn on the charm in my newest video. 10/29 -- This week I was the ultimate door-dasher. I live in the kitchen but most of the action is in the adjoining main room. Well, of course I want to be where the action is. [I really mean where the people are.] So when the staff or volunteers are walking into the kitchen with their hands full of empty bowls, out I go. Then they have to catch me and bring me back. That's not always easy! Then comes the next person who's thinking about loading the dishwasher and not me sneaking out the door. Hah! Two in a row! Even though they're getting wise to my ways, I can still slip out lots of the time. Why don't you come and visit me? You can open the kitchen door really wide when you come in [haha]. 11/11 -- I have a good friend who works at the shelter. Her name is Beth. Every morning I watch her drive up
